Place des Arts 2010

On May 22nd, 2010, LEM produced a show at Place des Arts entitled “A Traditional Greek Wedding – from Antiquity to Modern Day”. All proceeds from this folkloric event were used to purchase traditional costumes to expand LEM’s existing collection, worn not only by our own dance groups, but also by members of other associations within the community.

Over 200 dancers, singers, and actors (and one horse!) were part of this production. Though song, dance and dramatic performances, a rich and diverse set of Greek wedding traditions and celebrations were showcased. Live music was provided by the ERT Greek television band “Mousiki Paradosi” under the direction of Mr. Vasili Oikonomou.
