Welcome!

Our groups have the great responsibility of presenting a very rich and worthy work of art. As they have done in the past, they hope and plan to continue to commendably represent the Hellenic Community of Montreal at various cultural events and festivals organized not only locally, but also at the municipal, provincial and national levels, earning great raves and reviews.

The fruit of their labors will lead to this three-day folkloric event in celebration of the 100th year anniversary of our community, and will consist of:

Friday, May 19, 2006: In the renowned theater Place Des Arts we will present the dance show entitled: “Studying our roots: A tribute to the region of Roumeli, accompanied by dances, songs and traditions from all over Greece”. Over 160 dancers, singers, actors, narrators will participate in this event in light of making it a true success. They will be accompanied by the traditional band of the ERT Greek television show “MOUSIKI PARADOSI” headed by Vasili Oikonomou, arriving all the way from Greece to cover our musical needs.

Saturday, May 20, 2006: At the Hellenic Community Center, there will be festivity and dance for family and friends to celebrate and enjoy themselves with the band from Greece.
Sunday, May 21, 2006: At the Hellenic Community of Montreal, there will be a free dance and music workshop for all those interested, which will then be followed by a gathering for the youth, with a buffet offered by the community.

Our goal is that all of the profit from this event goes solely into the purchasing of traditional costumes for the enrichment of our costume collection, to which access will not only be granted to our own dance groups, but also to other associations within the community.

In conclusion, we invite you to help us by supporting our event, either by being an official sponsor or by purchasing tickets and attending our show. Your contribution is vital to the growth and continued success of our group.
